The GSFN have taken a page out of JC’s book and realize that people, of all ages and backgrounds, love learning from stories. Or maybe it’s they love stories and subconsciously end up learning from them. Jesus latched onto this principle whenever he told parables. He constantly used illustrations and his listener’s imaginations to connect them with often deep and otherwise confusing concepts. And better yet, He mastered the ability to use themes specifically relatable to his audience as well. Legend!

Using the same tried-and-true techniques, The Global Short Film Network seek to help their audience discover a persons story through the theme of a film and through this, be connected to Jesus.

This particular film house does a little more than just production however. Operating as more of a network, as their name implies, they not only partner with different film makers around the world to produce content, they also facilitate film production coaching and then go on to provide “discussion” material for follow up connection with the films final audience.

The Global Short Film Network also sees the opportunities that filmmakers from different parts of the world have for connecting with members of their own culture. So rather than internally producing content for these different cultures, they empower other filmmakers already in those cultures to produce the films themselves.

Over here at yesHEis, we are constantly impressed with the films produced by the Network. But even more than this, we are impressed by the vision they have for uniting and empowering the talents of Christian film producers from around the world for the common goal of introducing people to Jesus.
