Being able to talk to people about Jesus starts with prayer – but maybe not in the way you think.
Sometimes we get caught up in a one way conversation with God. But there are three important parts of prayer to remember when we’re living ‘Life on Mission’.
The first is getting into God’s presence. It doesn’t matter where or when you do this, or even how long, it’s just important that you do it. It can be as simple as saying, ‘I’m here God, I love you, how do you want to use me today?’ And then through worship and reading the Bible, allow yourself to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
The second part is praying for whoever He puts on your heart. It could be people you’ve just met, or it could be those you’ve been praying for for many years.
Finally, the Bible says to pray without ceasing - this is the third part. And while it sounds like a challenge, if you think of it as a running conversation between you and your Heavenly Father, praying for the people and situations around you moment by moment, it can be really powerful.
Challenge yourself to practice this for an hour, then a few hours, then a whole day. You’ll be amazed at what happens.
